Field operations and edge deployment context
// FDE / Forward Deployed Engineering

Focused engineers. Real workflow. Scoped fast.

Ridgeline's FDE teams work close to the operation - map the mission, connect the approved systems, put prototypes in operators' hands, and harden what survives contact with operations.

// The Pod

Three disciplines. One outcome.

Small enough to move fast. Senior enough to stay accountable through validation. A closed triangle of engineering, modeling, and operator context.

// fde · questions

What teams ask before deploying a pod.

What is forward deployed engineering?

Forward deployed engineering puts a focused team close to the operation instead of behind a requirements document. A Ridgeline AI team works with your operators against a real decision - mapping the mission, connecting approved systems, and putting working software in operators' hands rather than producing a specification for someone else to build.

How large is an FDE pod, and who is in it?

The pod is sized to the workflow. A typical team covers domain modeling, systems integration, and the operator surface, with additional support brought in when hardware, sensing, controls, security, or contracting requirements call for it.

How quickly does a pod produce something usable?

The first target is a scoped workflow in real use, not a demo. Timing depends on access, security, integration complexity, and the approval path, and the team stays through validation and production hardening when that is part of the engagement.

Do your engineers work on site, including secure or remote facilities?

Yes, where access, safety, and security requirements allow it. The model exists because plants, sites, vehicles, and missions do not generalize, including disconnected, industrial, and controlled environments where cloud-only delivery may not fit.

What happens when the engagement ends?

Ownership, handover, export, and support are defined in the engagement terms. The intended handover includes the operational model, lineage, and surfaces needed for the system to be reviewed and extended.

Is FDE available on a federal contract vehicle?

Applicable services may be positioned through GSA MAS contract 47QRAA26D0058, held by Element 29 LLC. Scope and eligibility are confirmed per requirement.
